Breakdown of the March 27 Nintendo Direct
During the March 27 Nintendo Direct, the focus shifted away from the Switch 2 for exciting game announcements and trailers. Chief among them is a full trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (seen below). Other surprise announcements included the release of Patapon 1 +2 and Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots, both of which are Sony-published games, and a new Marvel 90s-styled beat ‘em up, Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
Nintendo also revealed Nintendo Today!, a dedicated iOS/Android app designed to keep players up to date on new games and other announcements. After the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct on April 4, the app will also be updated daily with news about the console’s launch. Nintendo Today! is now available to download.

In the wake of shutting down Monolith Productions, Warner Bros. Games San Diego, and Player First Games, Warner Bros. has canceled the Hogwarts Legacy Story DLC, Bloomberg reported

Tencent Invests in Ubisoft’s Future
GamesIndustry.biz reports that Tencent — the Chinese tech conglomerate with stakes in Epic Games, Bloober Team, Don’t Nod, and more — is infusing $1.25 billion into a new subsidiary of Ubisoft. The investment is intended to bolster the development of several flagship franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
That does call into question the fate of other Ubisoft properties like Splinter Cell, which has a remake in development. Whether they’ll be able to survive outside of the blanket Tencent provided Ubisoft is questionable.

Neil Druckmann Clarifies ‘The Last of Us Part 3’ Comments
Just earlier this month, The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann offered a grim outlook for the series’ third entry. This week, speaking to CTV’s Etalk, he clarified further, leaving things even more uncertain.
Per Druckmann, “For there to be another [game], another thing, another project. So many stars have to align, so I can't guarantee it. Right now, my focus is on this season; hopefully, if HBO renews us, next season.”

Time Breaking: Dino Breach
It’s high time we all gave up on a Dino Crisis remake and instead shift faith into studios like Digitaly Arts. The Italian developer recently launched a Kickstarter for its Dino Crisis-inspired isometric survival horror, Time Breaking: Dino Breach.
Pulling concepts from Capcom’s popular dino-horror series, Time Breaking pits players against prehistoric beasts. Velociraptors return as the primary enemy, stalking players through a research facility in the game’s first level. Additional levels will be made available based on the success of the Kickstarter campaign, with promises of an Allosaurus and Pteranodon and two new locations tied to stretch goals.
Time Breaking was revealed just before the holidays on the developer’s Instagram account. Within four days of launching, the Kickstarter attracted 39 backers and raised over $1,700 of a $32,000 goal. There’s still plenty of time to help bring more prehistoric monstrosities to a unique isometric experience.
