New 'Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed' DLC Resurrects Vintage 'The Real Ghostbusters" Figure
He spies with his big eye...
Listen. Do you smell that?Â
It’s something strange, and it’s coming to a neighborhood near you as part of the next Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed free DLC pack. Released earlier today, the third content pack introduces a new frightening ghost type, a new map in need of haunting, and a bunch of movie-inspired gear sure to drum up heated discussions.
IllFonic announced the new content with some unfriendly faces—the Watcher ghost type. Sporting a big cyclops-like eye, Watcher comes in three grotesque variants, one of which elder Ghostheads and vintage toy collectors may immediately recognize as Bug-Eye from The Real Ghostbusters toy line. Bug-Eye also popped up in the IDW Teenage Mutant Turtles/Ghostbusters run, IDW’s Ghostbusters Vol. 2 Issue 2, two episodes of The Real Ghostbusters, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Bug-Eye is joined by new additions to Tobin’s Spirit Guide: the horrifying Gawk and mischievous Peeky. Much like the squeezable toy, Bug-Eye and his counterparts make use of their giant peeper for a quick scare or to quickly cover a lot of ground.Â

Watcher—and all previously released ghosts—will have a new hovel to haunt as New York’s newest venue opens its doors. The New Motion Club may be home to the Big Apple’s booming music scene, but the many skeletons in its closet have summoned hordes of pesky poltergeists. The map isn’t a massive change from other areas, with touches of verticality, winding hallways, and several open floors great for laying traps.
Busters will clear The New Motion Club (or leave it in slime-covered ruins) using a whole new set of gear and accessories inspired by the 2016 reboot, Answer the Call. The movie’s steampunk proton packs, EMF meters, and more join the game’s collection of tech. Players will also outfit their Ghostbusters with apparel, and hairstyles pulled right from Paul Feig’s universe. IllFonic also noted that the game will also feature Level 4 Tenure Unlockables, including glowing eyes, under-eye circles, and a lab coat.Â
DLC #3 comes with a list of changes, including reduced tier requirements for several research contracts, adjustments to the Disruptor Pylon, and additional quality-of-life fixes. You can find the full list of patch notes on the official website.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed also received a permanent price drop to $19.99.
